Tough All Over (Sometimes)

why, is it normalized to be
ashamed about begging…
because if someone can
come to terms with pride
than that’s half the battle,
or so, one might imagine
yet, here we are afraid to
admit we need anything
in socialized society it’s
appalling to apologize
but things are tough
all over, sometimes
