It is hard for me to find a book that I like—but I always have time for R.L. Stine! I was browsing Amazon and found a copy of “The Creatures from Beyond Beyond” for just under 7 dollars. As the price was good and the cover was appealing I decided to snag it. As usual, after reading the book I can say that R. L. is just as on par as usual and even though his books are short “The Creatures” made for a 2 hour jaunt within my mind—making use of my imagination and giving me warm vibes throughout.
Taken from back of book:
“I tugged at the monster’s warm, gooey hands. No use! It was too strong! I struggled for breath, but the monster held tight—tighter.”
Even though these books are marketed towards children as an adult who is slowly looming towards the big 40 I have no problem saying that I still enjoy these. Some books are just “too much” to drink in, but these you can read casually and enjoy the story. Again, these are marketed towards kids—but even I sometimes get caught up in a few spooky moments.
Overall I like anything that Mr. Stine writes. He is one of my biggest inspirations and I will continue to buy his books until the day that I die. I just hope he manages to stay on this earth for a good 200 years so he can keep up with the demand for his well-loved stories, from children and adults alike! -Devin J. Meaney
