Poem: 'Icarus Falling' by Sarah McKellar

Icarus Falling
For my love fell from Icarus,
My love fell from the skies,
His soul fell from heaven,
And this was his demise.

My love fell from Icarus,
I see you falling still,
I cry out and plead with you,
But the wolves closed in for the kill.

For my love was Icarus,
I felt his heart and body sing,
as higher and higher he flew,
on artificial wings.

For my love was Icarus,
so blinded by the sun,
Sweet Icaruus- in the end,
We knew that they had won.
