Poem: 'What Is Within' by Coralie Rowe

What Is Within
by Coralie Rowe

She presses a knife
Into her fragile skin
She opens herself
To see what is within
She lays little pieces
Of herself out to see
What is that makes her
So damn melancholy
Her heart is fractured
So black and dead
Her brain so comatose
It feels like lead
Bloody veins tangled
Knotted beyond repair
A soul so tainted
It no longer cares
Seeing all these things
Broken parts of her
She lays down the knife
And to death does concur
