The Texas Metal Outlaws is a very ambitious project, indeed. Sure you could say it's because they're from Texas, but I think it has more to do with all of these guys being so ambiguous. It's not like its just five guys holed up in a room creating metal music. You've got a whole motley crew of who's who of good ol', bad, boys to choose from. And they are giving it their Texas best. Of course I was extremely overjoyed to see one of my teenage favorites amongst the folds of this group. After years of not knowing whatever happened to Dangerous Toys, it's beyond killer to hear Jason McMaster's vocals surging through my speakers again. These metal maniacs won't have you doing any square dancing anytime soon, but barn burning is a possibility. Not that I'm suggesting barn burning by any scope of the imagination; I meant by way of the tremendous hammering of their flaming instruments. Talk about thunderous musicianship and dangerously wicked good lyrics. There you have it The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. -James K. Blaylock
