Demo Review: Dyspnoe "self titled" (Independent) by Devin Joseph Meaney

Band: Dyspnoe
Country: Austria
Genre: Crustcore
Format: Digital
Label: Independent
Release date: March 26, 2020
I just finished writing a review but there was still another band I found that I wanted to talk about. I am talking about Dyspnoe. When I stumbled upon their 2020 demo I was not expecting anything spectacular. But boy, was I wrong. This demo absolutely rules!
Posted on Youtube as ''crustcore'' I didn't know what I was getting myself into. But although I am a bit out of the loop with this genre, I can say without question that this band has talent... and the ability to suck you into an audio experience that you would not soon forget.
The drums are on time and absolutely pounding. The guitar work is elegant, at times ''eerie''... but always heavy and packed with cool riffs and rhythms. This band has riffs that you would never find in the grind I am used to. But damn. This shit has me hooked!
Vocally, these tracks are riddled with pure force and aggression. By the time I was nearing the end of this release I knew what I had to do. I had to let it play through a second time. It was that damn good!
Dyspnoe is a two-man Crustcore-project from Austria. I have never heard of them until today. But damn... I am sure glad I found them. Super unique with extreme talent. Hell yeah, Dyspnoe. Keep that shit coming! –Devin Joseph Meaney

  1. I can't believe this review went under my radar.

I'm really glad you liked our demo this much, reading this was a real moodlift for us :)

We started rerecording some tracks from the demo a while ago, but with other projects going on, Dyspnoe lost its priority for us a bit. Now, after reading your review, we at least wanna record an EP, and maybe keep Dyspnoe alive as a sideproject.
