Band: Ballsqueezer
Country: Slovakia
Genre: Ball and roll
Full Length: Brainless
Format: Digital album
Label: Independent
Release date: September 1, 2021
You know, it’s not very often I get to review a ‘fun’ oriented album but don’t get me wrong I have a special place in my heart for the fun, parody artists!
Whether you're talking
-Steel Panther
-Weird Al
-Tenacious D
-DethKlok
-Austrian Death Machine and more!
Now we add ‘Ballsqueezer’ to that list of bands who just want to rock out and have fun just for the sake of it!
-BRAINLESS
So this is the September 2021 release by the band, featuring 8 new tracks and the same Metal energy to keep you going for days!
When it comes to a band like this, I feel the best approach would be to not take yourself too seriously and just try to have fun as much as you can! Similar to Andrew W.K. where the energy is high and the responsibility is low that’s what works best in these scenarios and that’s what they pulled off perfectly!
When listening to these tracks I couldn’t help but feel a combination of ‘Pirate Metal’ and ‘Speed Metal’ vibes, as those shredding guitars remind me of something Dragonforce would of pulled off back in their day and the vocal and production style gives me flashes of Alestorm and the Sea Shanty Swagger they possess!
The keyword for today’s review is (FUN) because that’s exactly what this album is! It’s 8 tracks of fun and exciting adventure!
When you listen to this album in your car or walking your dog or on your lunch break wherever you do you will feel this sense of passion and adventure that you don’t get from most albums! The kind of music that makes you stare out into the open world and ponder a life of traveling, missions, and exploring! This is the kind of feeling you’ll get while listening to this record!
I for one had a great time! Even when I was just at home listening it didn’t stop my mind from running wild and my imagination flooding with scenarios and situations I could be in! Imaging my life as a pirate! (Even though I have seasickness) it’s still a cool thing to think about!
Look, one word of advice to those reading this? Take a break from the seriousness of the world and enjoy some FUN every once in a while. It’s okay to have a laugh and imagine for a second! Obviously serious albums are great but so are albums that help us unleash our creative side!
So go ahead, click on the link below, and as always let’s help this record go viral! –Corban Skipwith
