EP Review: Dysease "Molae Mortis" (Independent) by Daniel Ryan

Band: Dysease
Location: Siegen
Country: Germany
Genre: Progressive death metal
Format: Digital
Label: Independent
Release date: November 29, 2024
Definitely for the more current fans of metal genres, Dysease put out a helping of melodic death metal served with damaging effects. Gurgling and guttural vocally this band's mid-paced presence with experimentation leaves the listener with more heavy riffs to follow and drums that are always on point. It all gels into each other nicely and reminds me of the 2000s era of metal music. This EP is a reminder that many metal bands can overcome with effort and tireless attempts to make themselves sound different from the bunch. Hard and mentally on time, these guys remind me of an earlier Kataklysm in some areas. German technical death metal to be exact these guys are on a quest to discover their own sound throw this growing pain of an EP here. A little more experience and depth could prove to be the thing this band needs to set themselves apart from others in the scene. They got all the right tools to do it too. I have to say my favorite track is "Echoes of Redemption". –Daniel Ryan
