Poem: Untitled by Hannah Marshall

Untitled
by Hannah Marshall

convoluted tales
of your entrails
spread across
the kitchen floor
lie next to me
quietly
silently
and free
from negativity
the time
has come
for plastic bags
and bloody rags
now that your fears
are long gone
do not deny me
one last embrace
your cold flesh
pressed to my face
darling
my consumption
is done
we are one

Poem: 'Sugar Melt' by Heather Dawson

Sugar Melt
by Heather Dawson

My castles are built of sugar crystals pink and shining
Glossy and reflective of the light around
There are feather's in the precipice and sparkling shells
Pearls for Windows
Drawbridge of chocolate pulled shut tightly
No entrance -
No exit
Candy floss festoons
Flags of licorice
And I smile in my tower
Watching shimmer rivers run under and through me
This is a glamour
This castle is an abandoned wreck
The pearls stolen;
panes broken out
Candy devoured and left to rot
Ants in the sugar
I'm covered in sin
Everyone can see
Yet like a wind up toy
I polish my self
climb the tower stairs
over and over
hoping all will see the glitter and not the dirt
Praying : That I can fool the world as I trick myself

Poem: 'Wicked Vertebrae' by James Kenneth Blaylock

Wicked Vertebrae
by James Kenneth Blaylock 11-13-17

in these relentlessly dark days it's hard
to recognize the nuance from the beast,

as the nauseating nonsense goes beyond bone, blood and every hellish brotherhood

but, alas, our rescuing light shall someday
break the night, and all its wicked vertebrae

Poem: "Divide- -Unite- -Crucify" by Jeremy Void

"Divide- -Unite- -Crucify"

Is rejection a form of
cynicism
or perhaps is
acceptance an
insidious practice
We live in such an
insipid culture
where the truth is
whitewashed
the answers we seek
sterilized by
mass-
consumptionism
The prior function of
human anatomy
or should I say
parasitic
compositions
is to waste away
our number one prerogative
Follow the Leader
Join the In-Crowd
Dismiss the Out
Find Someone Better
to Idolize
another futile thoughtform
another useless ideation
Search for Meaning
in a Meaningless Paradise
Disciples of the Third Reich
Disciples of the Ones Who
Fight Kill and Die
Descendants
defending
elemental
melodies
mentally
descending
menacing
lemmings
of a wanton assembly
assemble and divide
brandishing this thing and that
seeing the world through
layers of distortion
through
tele
vision
Diminish the wisdom
of
our infinitely brilliant
predecessors
fatalist preachers
nihilist teachers
forfeiting a lordly burden to
the mindless breeders
breeding ideas that reek of
futility and
shame
Don’t you forget we live in
a free country
harboring ideas designed for
a free world
a world leaking cretins & freaks
creeps geeks and systematic sheep
The shepherd has died
tonight
prematurely
death to a deadhead
a less than human defendant
defending territory
of a battered Catholic rambling
bringing nothing but sheepish
idiosyncrasies to a bleakish
nothingness
I see a televised
Nightmare
realism seen through an insipid
screen
I watch a screaming past
careen through the blackened sky
The future is dying by
moonlight
Steal the stars from the
fiery night
Blow up the sun
and watch as everyone
decides
Decide to do something
anything
vote pick choose
take sides
divide divide divide
no surrender
show no mercy
fight until you win
Deliberately destructive
Wage war
wage war on the
fascist hatemongers
shoot an anarchist in the
back
Tear up the American flag
Rebuild a burning nation
from the ground up
Discerning I learn to relearn
to relearn to relearn
to relearn to
turn the other cheek
on all the violence
and the in-fighting
and let the politicians
and the political activists
and the preachers and the protesters
and the picketers and the
witches and the Christians and the
hipsters and the trumpster elitists
and the phony women and the
lonely men
of an unfolding culture
fight and kill each other
and maybe then
the undivided, undecided
king will rise
No sides
Fuck the left fuck the right
No sides
Only self-righteous assholes divide
No sides
Ride the tides until you die
No sides
Mount the tumultuous catalyst
Listen to the sounds of
hollow warfare
and sooner the anarchist is
crucified///

Blue robed sea
Salty lace foam
Lift me.
Revive my heart. Brighten my armor.
Strengthen my wings
until the burden
becomes unnecessary.

Poem: 'Unclean Mirror' by Johnny Hellion

Unclean Mirror
by Johnny Hellion 1998

Focus into the mirror
Wait until it turns clearer
The ugliness has only gotten nearer
Insides hold your shattered glass
Nothing good ever lasts
Wake up from this dirty dream
Wake up to be so unclean
Broken glass held together
Distorted visions wont make things better
Take away the broken me
Make me clear
Make me clean
Nothing good ever lasts
All I have is broken glass

Poem: 'Autumn Cinder' by Kay Irvin

Autumn Cinder
by Kay Irvin
Autumn cinder comes to play
And take away brightly stay
Memories now chill down
Warmth is no where to be found
The sleepy season sighs
Sunlight cries the Summer's tears
Autumn cinder brings the rain
And cools the end's after-pain
Stillness will resurrect
Peace slumbers in love's regret
Long days of burning dies
Sunlight cries the Summer's tears

Poem: 'Breathless.' by Laura Petellat

Breathless.
by Laura Petellat

As somber music plays, we dance, colorful ribbons grace your wrists. Splashes of hot wax drip on muscle, on flesh. Be a good boy. Beg for release and harden as your freedom is refused. I want to see you in chains. Cold metal draping your arms like tinsel on a Christmas tree. I want to see you beg. Look up at me with those soft eyes, a puppy in a pet store. You don't get out of these chains boy. You love them too much. Razor blades like angel wings bring forth rivers that edge us toward peace. The light wanes as we wished it to and all that is collapses into nothing. Home again, in solitude, embracing death's sweet kiss. Hello old friend. It's been far too long. Lashed and bare, you beautiful thing. Cries and gasps, how you love your bonds. Enjoy this sweet release and let me cleanse your wounds by making new ones. Settle in and breathe, so I can take your breath away.

Poem: 'Bombs on the Playground' by M Teresa Clayton

Bombs on the Playground
by M Teresa Clayton

The sound of explosions unlike any I have ever heard.
Trembling as we huddle together, no one saying a word.
The mind goes numb to what may have occurred and
Children fall to their deaths, the shooter undeterred.
Run, children, run as fast as you can, safety is out there.
Get behind the doors and under desks strewn everywhere.
Calling your mother, your father, who are still unaware.
Suffocating under the weight of so much despair.
Reload, did I hear him reload? Is he coming for me?
Turn off the lights and remain still so he can’t see.
Sounds of screams drowning out plea after plea.
Did we lock the door? Does he have the key?
Sirens in the distance, there is help on the way.
I have lost my heart on this Valentine’s day.
The silence of those with so much to say.
How do I find the words I need to pray?
Every second is my last, I count them down.
What once was deafening makes not a sound.
All we have left is right here kneeling on the ground.
Shock has settled in, wondering will I be found.
Blood splatters the walls and form pools on the floor.
I can see the massacre he created just outside the door.
Seems he isn’t finished, still looking for more…
More lives to cut down, I feel burnt to my core.
Breathe, she says, as she screams into my face.
Look at me, son, you cannot be replaced.
Don’t close your eyes, don’t fix your eyes on empty space.
Stay with me, son, your life is a promise of love and grace.
I watched as she exhaled her last breath as she spoke.
Again, the silence became mayhem, the barrier broke.
The weight of my breathing causes me to choke.
The blood I’m drowning in, above me – so much smoke.
How many will be waiting for me on the other side?
I tried, but there was no place for us to hide.
It happened so fast, now with eyes opened wide…
I take my place with the innocent – together we have died.

Poem: 'Lights (Age of strife)' by Natasa Nikolic

Lights (Age of strife)
by Natasa Nikolic

I look at rain, I see light
Hours, years die, they leave me

Voice of reason silenced, ancient resurrected
Old-new excuses conjured, old rhymes renewed

Pay for kindness and pray for truth,
Justice is crying in chains

Sum of sums explored, we struggle
ragged, and now what?

Millenia of procreation ending at half-mast
Ignorance hangs therein, locked around your head

We are silent, far away from eachother
Still - we burn, silently - we burn
Attuned to sounds of night,
Our swords are whispering
