Poem: "Nails and Bones" by Jerry Langdon

Nails and Bones
© Jerry Langdon 2019

Of the nails and bones that build sorrow's door
I wish not to ponder nor reminisce.
Swept clean from the doorstep forevermore,
With not so much as a good-bye kiss.
Return you burdens no more; be gone evermore!
With your rusted tales of haunting depression
I wish to journey nevermore.
I shall not be taunted by your skeletal impression.
Burden me no more; I must demandingly implore.
