EP Review: Vagus "Sulfurous" (Impamiiz Productions) by Corban Skipwith

Band: Vagus
Location: Stockholm
Country: Sweden
Genre: Technical death metal
Format: Digital album
Label: Impamiiz Productions
Release date: June 16, 2022
Let me start off with a question. ‘Is there anything better than a straight to the point Metal album done right?’ The answer is simple.
Not in your fucking life!
Because that is one of life’s greatest joys as a metal head when you find a Metal album that hits all the right spots, utilizing the ‘meat and potatoes’ method creatively and with great technique as well as putting together a great, head banging EP that will stay in your memory for weeks to come.
This is exactly what these guys have done within this 4 track EP, stylistically it reminds me a lot of ‘Deathcore/Grindcore’ kind of a mash up between bands like ‘Suicide Silence (Mitch Era) and Dying Fetus’ real brutal and heavy instrumentation paired with some excellent and exciting use of production and execution on the parts of all the band members involved.
One thing I also love about this record is how apparently it’s dedicated to a man known as ‘Juro Immortal Harin’ who from what I’ve read helped the underground thrive and prosper which is a badass thing to be known for and something and someone I can respect!
I think as far as EP’s go this one is pretty solid, the key here they don’t fuck around and it’s enjoyable for all Metal fans across the board! Go check it out today! Corban Skipwith
