Poem: 'Rip The Words From MY Chest' by Jerry Langdon

Rip The Words From MY Chest
© Jerry Langdon 2018

Speech can be full of confusion.
Meanings turn out to be illusion.
Feels like missing some spice.
Breathing ferious fire or frigid ice.

Sorry that's not what I wanted to say.
It just came out that way.
All the things we let pass our lips.
Those words we sling from the hips.
When our hearts are burning
When our hearts are yearning.
Love fighting pain
Til they become one and the same.
Blurting things I didn't want to say.

Rip the words from my chest.
The untainted are the best.
When the silence is broken,
And the words have been spoken
They will no longer be the same.
So in Love's name
Rip the words from my chest.
The untainted are the best.
Taste what I really wanted to say.
