Poem: 'Not-being' by Alan Lisanti

Not-being

This is a poem about nothing
So barren, such boredom, so dull
This a poem about nothing
The empty, unclever, unfull

This is a poem about nothing
In nonexistence, written, although...
This is a poem about nothing
Above, beyond, below

This is a poem about nothing
I've declared it so
This is a poem about nothing
That tells you all we know

This is a poem about nothing
The not, the nope, the null
This is a poem about nothing
To gain, to learn, to grow

This is a poem about nothing
Not flesh, not bones, not soul
Just abstract body in ocean
Like a current's flow

This is a poem about nothing
Not the makings of control
Chaos not even a question
Not of familiar or unknown

The sound of words unspoken
Of thoughts without a home
This is a poem about nothing
Leading to nowhere known

This is a poem about
Nothing concrete leaving,
Well enough alone

This is a poem about
Nothing, wherein no
Truth has been exposed
