Full Length Review: Paralysis "Patrons Of The Dark" (Grind Core International) by Daniel Ryan

Band: Paralysis
Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Country: USA
Genre: Death metal
Full length: Patrons Of The Dark
Format: CD
Label: Grind Core International
Release date: 1992
In 1992 this Louisiana band carved a name for themselves in the early 90s death metal scene with something absolutely brutal and straightforward. This is death metal without a cause and is a very bass-driven album. Ben Falgoust on vocals is like a demon penetrating you with spears of fire and ancient spells. The band plays death metal not too overproduced or fancy but gets the job done just right with their antics. The band is bloodthirsty and hypnotic to say the least. Definitely a pleaser for old school DM heads and a gem of an album to old school heads like myself listening to them for the first time. I would have to say my favorite song is Shroud of Iniquity. For fans of old Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, and Dismember this one truly stands out on its own as its own beast in the DM genre. If you are looking for something brutal and straightforward look no further, this one is a classic to sink your teeth into. –Daniel Ryan
