Right off the bat, I will say this. I haven’t heard this level of hellish drumming since the band ‘Here Comes The Kraken’ holy fucking shit, talk about nightmare fuel.
Anyway, this is the latest demo by the ‘Black Metal’ band and it features 3 new tracks. The total length runs around roughly under 17 minutes (give or take) but man this is truly a unique showing of ‘Black Metal’ due to the sheer ‘power’ behind the instrumentation taking things to a level you very rarely hear!
Every drum hit, every guitar string played, every vocal hit is turned up to a 12/10 that it makes the intensity of the album run deeper the most, you can physically hear the carnage and wrath coming off this! The violent intent, the slaughtering nature of the beast ever so present in this short yet haunting demo. One other thing that helps them stand out is their use of ‘ambient and fantasy’ inspired themes which I have to say fits in perfect with an album of this caliber.
The vocals are also done quite well with the guy visibly sounding behind the production in order to give that ‘raw’ effect commonly heard in either underground ‘Black Metal’ or classic 80’s Norwegian ‘Golden Era’ ‘Black Metal’ either way great use because it not only helps the instrumentation shine but also gives that as mentioned above ‘haunting’ effect like he’s a demon from the olden days here to take your soul!
My last words? Go check this Behemoth stature record a chance, it will kick your ass if you’re not prepared but I can tell you in the ever so relative words of the late great Richard Pryor ‘Well that’s an ass kicking I gotta take’. –Corban Skipwith
