Poem: "Caught In The Mirror" by Jerry Langdon

Caught In The Mirror
© Jerry Langdon 2023

Caught in the mirror
As if it was always there
A reflection of some trick
Damned to be searching
For a way to be seen
Just touched on the surface
While the depths remain
Unexplored
There's a crack in the glass
But only darkness bleeding out
This vision can't escape
Knock, knock. Who's there
Caught in the mirror
A makeshift illusion
Of a Jerry rigged delusion
A puppet of madness
Controlled
The oracle promises an omen
Its visions are distorted
Shifting day to day
Can't understand its message
Cryptic signs from the Gods
Caught in mirror
Are the answers near?
I see those runes being etched
Deeper
