Poem: Untitled by Hannah Marshall

by Hannah Marshall, 2017
my sticky filthy tawdry heart
beats to tunes deliciously hard
tunes etched in the core of my brain
the part too stubborn to be sane
my mind encased in rose colored glass
words bubble from cracked lips
always bitter and crass
still my grinding heart churns
a disastrous montage
of chords and notes
playing a distorted rhythm
that burns my throat
making me choke
