CD Review: BOTTOMED Separation/Anxiety

BOTTOMED
Separation/Anxiety
Bottomed are a solo project from Chicago, Illinois that plays a mixture of drone, electronic, death industrial and harsh noise and this is a review of his 2016 album "Separation/Anxiety" which was released by Out-Of-Body Records.
Programmed beats start off the album along with some elements of industrial and electronic music and after awhile power electronics and harsh noise traces start to make their presence known and both of the tracks are very long and epic in length and the music also gets very avant garde and experimental at times.
A great amount of drones can be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while also mixing in the brutality of death industrial along with some soundscapes also being utilized at times and at times the music adds in tribal elements as well as making both of the songs sound different from each other and on the second track spoken word parts can also be heard briefly.
Bottomed plays a musical style that takes electronic music, drone, death industrial and harsh noise and mixes them together to create something very original and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion Bottomed are a very great sounding mixture of drone, electronic music, death industrial and harsh noise and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Separation". 8 out of 10. -Loki Astaroth
